91 si tranny in 88 si
if the 88 has the original transmission, you would need to swap out the 88 clutch disc and use the 89 Si clutch disc in order to use the 91 transmission

The 88 clutch discs have more splines than the 89-91 discs.check out this link on how to I.D. What you really have

thanks for all the help.. i understand now, i saw a transmission for a 91 si on craigslist and was thinking about buying it, good thing i asked first. thanks again.
i got a 88 dx u chould make a si tranny its in amazing shape i also got a 91 si the diffrence is the splines the 91 has more and the 88 has less so if u want it to fit ud need to use a new fly wheel if u want a crazy mod i found out get a 96 hydro clutch and flywheel and press plate the car will grab like its a stage 2 race clutch stock lol it works well still runing it just dont use the cheep ebay clutch cables lol
