Default JL W6 box help

I know this isnt the right place to be posting this, but it seems like most help comes from here...anyway

I bought a 12" JL W6 and built a box for it and it sounds good when i keep the trunk closed but when i open the trunk the speaker seems like its going to blow. I built a sealed box 18x13x13.8 inches(jl requirements). I need help in picking the right box. What box do yall recommend?...sealed...bandpass...ported...etc...

since its a w6 stick with a sealed box, make sure you put in speaker insulation inside the box to slow down the sound waves, it will sound better and reduce some of the baffling noise coming out of the speaker. Even when i open my trunk it sounds like it will blow, just make sure your not putting too much power into it. I believe the 12w6 can handle 300watts, just check the gain on your amp and make sure its not too high.
