Hood spacers?

Hood spacers?
Im running the lsvtec swap in an eg, and the valve cover is hitting the hood so i was wonderin about putting hood spacers in to stop it from hitting, also would be a gain to vent hot air...
Anyone done this? How did you do it?

no pix but heres a tip:
skateboard bushings/shims
and extended bolts from hardware store
i broke one of my bolts off and my hood kind of flaps 65+
