Default LOOKED FOR EVER!!!!!!!! Vitara Pistons Y8 Block Questions

I got a simple question to ask, i got a set of new vitara piston and i'm going to use them in a y8 block with scat rods, and i was wondering what pistn rings do i use... I've Searched and nothing, please help out, because i want to start to boost asap. also i head of piston slap using vitara pistons, can anybody elaborate a little bit out it. Please Help a fellow H.T. User out .....

the slap is dependant on the piston to wall clearance. we just did one, set it at .0035 clearance sounds stock. our pistons though came with rings.

I used Hastings rings that came with my Vitara's when I bought them.

I think FJT would probably be able to get you just the rings, but they come with the kits. The piston slap is from a combo of running worn 75mm bores with the pistons that are much smaller than the 74.9965" they should be for a ideal fit. They're more like 74.9935-45. In a worn stock bore, thats like tossing a hot-dog down a bowling alley as far as a Honda motor is concerned.

You can get the 75.5mm kits and have your sleeved honed to match them. I'd go with .0035"-.0045", depending on how much power you intend to run.

do i use the vitara rings or do i use civic rings, is what i need to know thanks for the info on the piston slap

Use Civic D16 rings and you can use NPR,Hastings whatever I just went to a local parts store and got some.

has anybody ever used the piston ring set from JE Pistons, also what head gaske will be sutable for my setup so that it will not be ultra low in compression z6 head gaket or y8
