Default 1999 Civic Si wheels on a 2005 Civic

Hello everyone, Im new here and this is my first post.

I Have a 2005 Civic VP and it came with 14" wheels. I bought a new set of 15" Si wheels and want to put them on my 05. Does anyone know of any problems I may have? Can anyone suggest a good tire size? I was planning on using a195/55-15 the vehicle is for MPG not performance so I dont need anything sticky. Also, I am a GM V8 guy and Im fairly new to the Honda thing, so I was wondering if the speedo needs a gear change or anything to take the 1" larger wheel?

Thank you in Advance. Also, how can I enable my avatar?

Thanks Guys

99-00 si rims are the same as 03 ex rims so they will fit just fine

i run 205/60R15 on mine. i think the closest to stock size is 195/60R15

Thank you for the fast reply. I am on the lookout for tires and not sure what size to get. Will the tire and wheel upgrade affect the speedometer reading?

Got any pics of the SI wheels on the Civic VP? Have you changed your cluster out for one with a tach?

Thanks! Fred

205/60?! That must look strange, haha. I have 205/55/15 if you're not on stock suspension would be good.

For an '05 VP, 195/60/15's are the closest to stock tire sizing. It's only .081% off in overall height. 205/55/15's are 1.337% off, which is a fair amount. 205/60/15's are even worse at 2.029% off.

most em2 civics that come with 15" wheels have 195/60/r15 wrapped from factory. so im assuming your better off getting that size to be close to stock. cause it is stock.

That is the look that I am after. Looks very nice. can you steer me to where I can buy a set of fog lights like you have that will fit in the VP front end? Does that come with the kit or just the lights?
Thanks again guys!

there my winter tires. my car is dropped all the way on Tein basics so the top of the tire is flush with the wheel well. it looks fine imo.

in the summer i run 205/55R15 typically.

You can get the OEM foglights from Honda via the sites I've listed in the FAQ's, or you can buy eBay replicas. But expect to have issues with wiring and possibly issues with seals and broken lenses, when buying from eBay.

Have you tried to upload one, via your profile? (link in upper right hand corner)
Most likely you're not meeting the size requirements for the site.

You can access your profile while in "Trial Member" status. It's the link in the upper right hand corner that says "My Profile".

And the FAQ's, much like the Forum Guidelines, are stickied to the top of the forum.
