I have a 6th gen hatch with b20b and gsr head (not sure if that matters) with an apexi ws2 exhaust and im getting the catalytic converter code and now im starting to feel it in the performance but I was inquiring if i should get a new catalytic converter from somewhere or get a test pipe and resonator. I'm skeptical about the whole test pipe thing because i like the quietness of my exhaust and i'm not sure if i'd lose that by replacing the cat with a test pipe. any help would be appreciated.

 

i have a test pipe and i HATE it...i'll trade u for ur cat=]

 

i gets a little louder and raspier depending on the size of the piping. only if you have a lot of mods will you really feel a response difference. i feel that you should check the validity of the cat sensor and continue running a cat unless you are going to build the cr-vtec.
