air conditioner : coolish/not every cold air during day, and ice cold at night?
hi, i don't know if its just my car but during the day(about 90 degree weather) i have my AC on full blast and its just blowing coolish/not every cold air. I just tired the AC again(night time about 77 degree) and its blowing freezer cold air. BTW i just checked the level of the freon and its still good. I was wondering if or can i make it cold cold during the day. TIA
Yup, on a hot day it will take 10-15 minutes for my car to cool off, specially with black leather interior. Also, the R-134 doesn't get as cold as the R-12 freon. Also, make sure you condensor is clean and not cacked up with bugs, if it is, take it to a car wash and pressure wash the condensor clean, that will help increase the cooling efficiency of your a/c system. How did you check the level of freon in your system? Did you use a pressure gauge? You may wanna take it to a mechanic and have them pull a vacuum and evacuate the system of any water buildup and recharge the system.
i checked with the gauge that came on the r134a can....its still in the green so i figure its still good. i was driving my car for a good 30 mins with the AC on full blast today and it was still coolish
Is your AC cold on a hot day after 10-15mins? whats the avage price to "pull a vacuum and evacuate the system of any water buildup and recharge the system"?

no worries man....is your compressor working? or maybe your dryer or condenser is [freak]ed up..why do you to think its an coolant hose on your head?...i just system vacuumed and recharged my AC and its ice cold now
it takes some time to get ice cold(about 15 mins driving around) but its better than nothing
i cant believe i took it out in the first place, i can stand no power steering but AC is a must now. summers seem to get hotter and hotter every year

My a/c takes about 10-15 mins of driving to get the car comfortable in this 100 degree weather.

yeah i wish my AC would get colder faster too like newer cars, but it seems to get colder faster if im driving on the fwy. maybe cuz more air is hitting the AC fan?

i just bought a 94 ls and basically because the A/C is ice cold at all times! the rest of the car is project but the A/C is worth it here in the desert... 105+ everyday and it's not even june.
takes so long to kick in though, good luck with that A/C problem, i'm taking all these precautions just to be sure mine still works
