Default which vss to use? gauge cluster swap

So im preparin for sometime soon (after the engine swap) installing a 94 integra gauge cluster into my 91 hatch. i've already created pinouts today using the few sites i've found on similar gauge cluster swaps, and my friendly pal ALLDATA. At this point i'm trying to figure out what electronic vss i should use.

I have a 94 integra vss that came out of an auto tranny which maybe i could use, but not sure. it sits in the 93 ls trans i have nicely, but the bolt holes don't line up so i can't secure it down. so i'm guessing it would probably be a bad idea to try and use it. that being said which one should i get that will fit? most likely some b series obd1 manual trans vss right? but from what exactly

Edit: ok so i've putzed around the archives a bit more but i'm still kinda confused. it seems like people are saying that b and d vss's are interchangeable? i'm assuming as long as they're all obd1 (atleast for my application), and that they are from manual trans? i'm only assuming this because the one i have clearly doesnt have a way to bolt into my 93 ls manual trans.

Any manual obd1 vss will work.(or obd2 for that matter) I'm assuming yours didn't work because it came from an automatic.

the one i've heard of using is the one from the tranny you are using then wire it correctly for the cluster...let us know step by step on this. i'm thinking about doing this same setup...

13_20:
Well the one that came with the trans stock is a cable output, not electrical

thevtecnician:
ok i'll find a manual obd1 vss then the one that came out of the auto may work as far as electrically, but it just doesnt mount right. it sits flush with the trans and feels like its snug in there. its just theres no way to secure it.

Its cause the DA is cable and the DC is electrical, although manual and automatic seem to be the same

any electric vss will work. d and b are the same and either one will bolt to either tranny. doesnt matter if its obd1 or 2 just get the plug with it. i had a 94 teg cluster in a 88 crx. both with a d and a b swap. its easy to do. i got 4 or 5 electric vss laying around.

make sure you taking out the whole vss not just the top theres only one 10mm bolt that holds the whole thing in.
