Help on this 1991 crx with a 1994 vtec installation
Ok, my buddy bought a "almost" finished crx from a KU student who left. He has the engine in the car but cannot get it running. I was told that it is probably the dist. since its the dist. out of the old motor that wasnt a vtec. Also it may be the computer and wiring. I need to know what computer should be in the car? What Dist.? And harness. Plus I would like to know if anyone knows how to set the timing mark? Got the car cheap, so we figured if we cant get it running we will scrap it or sell it. We are old school v8 guys, so we have some familiarity on fixin cars.
you should ask the guy you got it from what motor ECU and OBD it is, if you can.
then check out the FAQs page at the top of the main civic/crx page,
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1508680 and search.
if you cant get ahold of that guy then maybe you could post some pictures of the motor and its wiring.
Is it a single cam or dual cam? what is the code stamped on the block towards the passenger side of the header?
is the plug for the distributor round or square?
and you need the correct distributor for the motor and the OBD type.
