Who likes MINI's?
I like the new mini cooper's. Matter of fact I like the old ones better. Do you guys think you could swap out the motor to a B16 or something. The car is hella light. (about 1100 pounds) (the old ones)......I mean if hatches with with 1.5l or 1.6l engines can be swaped with 1.8l (.3 over) cant we do the same with the minis. (stock 1.3l engine) Damn I would like to see it done and see the numbers it hits.
Any comments anyone.

I once saw an 'Old Style' mini with a B18C5 in it. It was totally custom from the fire wall forward but it looked tight and I bet the thing rocked. Sorry, didn't save the picture.
As for the new Mini, the engine is fairly unstressed, even in SC form. i'm sure there is some power to be found there.
BTW, the new Mini is built by BMW with a Dimler Chrysler engine. How weird is that?

if I can remember right in either a turbo magazine or SCC a few years back a guy had cut a MR2 1st gen so that the mini body can fit right over it.. looked pretty nice but damn that was years ago..I say go for it but I wouldn't put anything in there except a 1.5L with carbs and a built head w/high comp pistons.. a dohc b18c(R) might add to much weight to the light as hell car..**** drop a h22 in it and watch that sucker lose traction in 5th gear =P
It is civic related. You are putting a civic motor in there arent you. Damn you must be really dumb to think this is not civic related. (B16 motor)
Yeah this is off topic but since its still here I guess I'll share my experience I had with the mini.
I was at the track the other week, and there was a new mini there. His best time was a 15.9. Most of his runs were 16.0-16.1. So there not all that quick stock, but I'm sure there are upgrades for it.
As far as them swapping out their motor for a civc motor...Why would they want to do that???? That just seems really dumb.

i believe the swap was for the older minis. I personally have seen a mini with a 2.0 motor stuffed in there. Its kinda like trying to swap a h22 into an ef where it would be extremely hard and there would be no room left at all after you were finished. But with a b18c5 in the older minis...wow that would be really fun to drive!!
I like them....to poop on
I want to pull up next to an "s" at a light so0o0o0o bad. Especially one of those faggs that has the british flag painted on the roof

hahahaha.
what they should have on the top of them is a big **** swastika because they're actually a BMW creation.
anyway... i drove one of the non-s versions. they handle and brake great.. but it feels like you're driving a friggin geo metro. also, the clutch pedal pivots really weird. i had to take my shoe off to drive it.

This isn't civic related! The mini cooper S= supercharged. I think it puts out 175 hp or something like that.
I would forget about the B-16 and do a swap like the above Mini
