1990 AWD Civic Wagon Driveshaft Help

I am posting this for a friend who has a 1990 Civic Wagon (AWD) that is trying to remove the driveshaft. He says there is a special socket/tool that is needed to remove a spline-type bolt (that has 8 or 10 sides) which is holding the driveshaft to the transmission...

Any help?
