Default Advice on Civic

I posted this same question on the classics thread with no answer.

I am about to buy an 1987 Civic 2dr Hatch. It is in pretty good shape. The main reason I buy it is for fuel economy, it has a 1.3 carburated engine. I have some questions:
1. What is the fuel economy of that model?

2. How feasable is a D16Y8 swap in the future using the tranny from a 91 CRX Si and a P28 ECU.

3. Any known problems I should with that particular model that I should be concerned about?

Input is appreciated

Thanks

I have an 86 with the EW15 carb engine, and I get roughly 25-30 mpg, which is a lot of mixed driving.

Engine swaps are possible, but the mounts can be a little pricey, you might be mix-matching axels/hubs (You do with the B series for sure)

Also, you're possibly looking at installing a new fuel pump and maybe even new fuel lines. It's possible, but I don't know if it's worth it.
