'99 Honda Accord will abruptly die sometimes..???
Sometimes, my 99 honda accord will abruptly die and all guages will drop to zero. It only happens every few hundred miles and there doesnt seem to be any correlation with any other factors. It seems to be entirely random and the car will always start right back up. Other than this problem, it runs fine. any suggestions??
you can register the car with owner's link and it will tell you what recalls have been completed. if the ignition recall shows as open it needs to be done
I'm not sure what the owner's link is, but you can just call a dealer and ask if there are any open recalls. Have your VIN handy when you call.
One thing though - when I had my ignition switch recall done, when I got the car back there were some big white pry marks on my steering wheel column cover (the plastic piece). The mechanic had tried to open it wrong and used a screwdriver - I pointed it out right away and they fixed (replaced) it at no cost. Anyway, the point here I guess is to take a few pictures of your steering wheel column cover before you take it in just in case something happens.

also when i had the recall done to my car ... they told me that they had to splice into my wire harness and it would cost me 40 or so dollars to reconnect my alarm ... what kinda bs is that lol ...
