Azenis 205/50/15 on stock rims, track use?
need a set of tires for the track next week, and I don't want to use slick tire this year. and I read many said the tire is too wide for the stock rim, should I buy it? or what other performance tires that fit the stock rim better ? pls suggest !
Thanks in advance!!

That's what i use. I like the tires better than re010's. And they fit fine on that size.
I haven't used the 205/50/15 azenis on the track, but i have used a 205/15/50 on the track before. Works fine. all my slicks were 205/50/15 as well.

I run that size on a stock rim at the track at 33 psi front/ 35 psi rear. Sticks and handles better than stock, but thats all I have to compare them too.
Are you looking for a track tire (R compound), that you're not going to use on the street? If so, the Azenis aren't track tires. Instead I recommend the Yokohama A032R in 205/50-15.
If you're looking for a tire for the street which you occasionally take out on the track, then the Azenis are fine.

Just make sure they are broken in and you run the correct pressures and they will be fine. I've got three full track days on my Azenis, and they seem to be holding up much better than stock.

The falkens are pretty good on the track as long as you don't over drive them. If you heat them up too much (excessive understeer), they will become pretty slick.
205-50-15 on stock wheels are FINE for the track and street. If you are using it for a combo, its awesome, you cant beat ~$70/tire.
I mounted these wheels literally 350 miles before my track event. During the first 100 miles, they seemed a little "lose." I guess because all the greases and oils were still embedded on the surface.
I noticed driving on the highway was extremely unresponsive, and when it did respond, it felt like understeer kind of.
By the time I got to the track, they were in my book, broken in. It was my first track event that I had EVER experienced. I thought they did well vs my stock tires.
I wore down the tires pretty good. I wouldnt expect more than 5 track events out of these tires. The only down fall to these tires are the longevity. I couldnt imagne putting more than 12k on the tires. Damn tires wear out quick. My car has camber kits and in alignment, so I was doing everything to preserve their longevity. I guess putting at least 60 miles on my car does it to you. Anyway, hope this helps you out. Take it easy.
