Default Rim Offset

what's up everyone, i'm new to the board. I drive a 4th gen black bumpered beauty. anywho, i got a question about rims. What is offset and how does it affect the appearance on a car. ex. the higher the #, the more it'll stick out - or the lower the # the more it'll be tucked in? or vice versa? SECONDLY, what is the best offset for a 4th gen accord? thanx a lot.

use this to determine how much more/less clearance u will have w/ a new set of wheels with difference offsets.

You have a limited amount of clerance between the tire+wheel and the knuckle, so do not choose an offset+wheel width+tire size combo that will rub.
