b20 swap please help!

b20 swap please help!
i just baught a 91 civic si with a jdm b20 and noticed that hoses that connect to the water and stock intake were missing and the waterhose was blocked off..can i mess up the engine by driving like that? and noticed i need a new rac n pinion cus the boot is broken how long can i drive like that?AND THE ENGINE STAYS COLD WELL THE NEEDLE SAYS IT IS BARLEY LIFTS ABOVE THE COLD LINE OR STAYS RIGHT ON IT AFTER DRIVING ALL OVER .....SHOULDNT I BE ALMOST TO THE MIDDLE TEMP?IS THIS GOOD?

People do that so their intake manifold runs cooler... They block and bypass most of the coolant lines like from the IACV, FITV, IM, heater, thermostat, etc; and they use a hondata or plastic intake manifold gasket so the IM doesnt get too hot....
You should be fine......
as for the rack and pinon, how do you know its broken? Just because the boots are broken it doesnt meen its bad. You can buy the boots at most of the auto parts....
