i am looking for engine and tranny codes for the crx hf or civic vx. I currently own a 1990 accord ex and I'm looking to swap motors/tranny to increase mpg. I plan on weight reduction as well. I do have junkyards here in Houston,Tx that have plenty of Honda parts, I just don't know if I'm getting the right ones for fuel economy. Also any links for these kinds of swaps are greatly appreciated. I'm also intrested in knowing if the crx HF tranny will bolt up to my stock 1990 accord ex, and can it work with the car? looking for taller gears. I need a tranny asap My 3 rd is completely gone.

I don't think you'll see much mpg improvements because you'll be asking the small HF or VX engine to pull a larger/heavier car (Accord).

The CRX HF and the Civic VX got incredibly high mileage because of the weight reduction done to the car. I think you'd be spending a lot of time and money on something that won't give you satisfactory results. Wny not just get a Civic VX since it can seat 4 or carry a lot of stuff already in stock form?
