Dear California NMA Members,
There is a bill currently in the Senate that requires your attention. It would allow the creation of a speed camera "pilot project" in Beverly Hills, California. If it's allowed to proceed, this pilot project will undoubtedly lead to the installation of speed cameras statewide in the future.
The bill,
http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/....html
SB1325, is currently in the Senate Transportation & Housing Committee and narrowly failed to pass (5 votes for, 5 votes against) on April 29th.
Unfortunately, the committee voted in favor of keeping the bill open for reconsideration.
To prevent this bill from sneaking through the legislature in the future, we encourage you to contact your legislators and the members of the Senate Transportation Committee to voice your opposition to the bill.
You can find your legislator's contact information http://www.congress.org/congressorg/dbq/officials/ here and contact information for the Transportation Committee is available http://www.senate.ca.gov/ftp/s...E.HTM
here.
Thank you for your efforts!
