That's why the insurance rates are so low for these cars (not that Corollas are all that high).

My first car was a '94 DX 1.8L; on which I threw a cheap generic intake, $250 catback, and cheap 16" TSW's. Got 30mpg all day long, never broke down, and was only 2400lbs so it was actually kinda fun to drive with the 205-series rubber. The 7AFE has got a pretty decent torque curve for a small engine, too.

That car was absolutely dead-nuts reliable; I wouldn't be surprised if it's still on the road with 250k on it.

^^^ Nice. Honesly, I liked the look before the kit. I think a nice GT front lip would have set it off right. Anyways, in regards to the 20v... you going silver or blacktop?

I would love to go with the blacktop with a 6 speed and LSD, but the silvertop is more in my price range at the moment. Plus, if I ever decide to boost, I'll be better off.

Update on my car. I ended up buying another car instead for the same price as what if would have cost me to do a swap, except this car has more motor work done!

Here is its mods and some pics:

7AFE Block
Big port head with gasket match port job
MR2 Bigport intake manifold port matched to head(TVIS eliminated)
Head shaved for more compression and valve job
0.8mm HKS headgasket
Toyota Headbolts(New)
Porsche 944 timing belt
4-2-1 TNT Tuning header
2 1/4" header back exhaust with (real)Apex-i N1 Built by TNT Tuning
4AGZE injectors
Microtech LT8 EMS
ACT Stage 2 clutch
Resurfaced 7A flywheel wheel
Gator Axles
AE92 GTS trans with 4.30 gear and LSD

and thats just the motor and tranny work...

In the past the car dynoed 169.8fwhp at 6250rpms and 155fwtq at 5500rpms

Here are some pics:
