HELP!!!: Having trouble dropping tranny
ok, so I followed the helms manual and every nut/bolt described has been removed. Jacks placed under tranny ready to drop the tranny.
Only problem is it seems like the tranny is still bolted on to the motor or mount.
When all the bolts are taken off, should the tranny drop 180 degrees down to the ground or do you have to shift it to the right to clear any dowels and than drop it down?

There are a couple of dowel pins. Gotta move it over and let it fall on your friend's head.
Also, did you take the starter out? Two bolts (with one that run straight through to the engine block).

did you take the starter off? if not that's the problem...or at least you have to take the bottom bolt out....
there is one hidden bolt underneath that is hard to find....
you must drop engine and tranny 2-3 inches then pull tranny out of the clutch assembly/flywheel.....hang on cause when it gets lose it will drop fast!! they are heavy!

Yeah, the one you gotta use a long extension on and never wants to thread in or out the easy way...it's all effort....none of that slack-arm stuff.

update:
there was a bolt on the starter that was hidden underneath the starter itself. I took that off and I had to shake the tranny off the dowels to bring it down.
Now thats all opened up, I notice the pressure plate is bolted on to the flywheel with a special type bolt. The bolt head in shape of stars with lots of edges.
Where can I get the tool to remove those bolts?

.....they're just 12 pt in 10mm and 12mm I believe (pressure plate cover and flywheel, respectively). Just make sure you put the socket on there perfectly and not at an angle, cause the head on those things is so small...
Use the itr-nc/fl approach and put a screwdriver through one of the holes on the flywheel to hold it while you try to get them off...

12 point 10mm socket on the pressure plate, 12 point 17mm socket on the flywheel. Impact gun is best, however a bolt wedged in the flywheel works as well.
