Mobil1 10W/30 or Factory Airbox ???
Dumped my oil and short ram intake...
Filled with Mobil1 10W/30 (Purolator PureOne filter) and reinstalled my factory airbox (K&N panel filter).
My B16A2 is now idling at 3000 RPM on a cold start -> 1000 RPM after it warms up...
Which one did the deed?

disconnect the negative battery terminal for around 15 minutes....but if you have the stock stereo, you'll need the radio code...I've also heard from an older honda mechanic that if you touch the pos and neg terminals for a quick second it resets the prom.....but I have yet to try it...and not really sure if I would....and it deff wasnt the oil....more possibly the intake

15 minutes!?!?! haha more like 5-10 seconds if that. You can also pull the ECU fuse, which would save the radio code thing.

Okay, all is good!
LoL!
Can't believe I forgot to reset the ECU... DoH!!!
I just reset it like 2 months ago!
Now its 1500 RPM on a cold start -> 900 RPM on rolling neutral -> 750 at a stop...
Thanks for resetting my memory, Padawan!

Touching the neg and pos cables together instantly discharges any capacitors in the system (don't forget to disconnect BOTH cables before touching them together). Won't harm anything.

My 2000 CiViC used to trigger CELs all the time!
This or that injector would stick every once in a while, on startup, and if I didn't turn it off fast enough it would foul the plug.
Anyway, I've probably reset my ECU 100 times or more...
I've done it every which way to Sunday, and they all work the same, except pulling the fuse - sometimes the fuse thing works for me, but usually not, so I gave up on that.
First of all, I carry a 'cheat sheet' in my glove box, with my radio stations. That's a biggie! I haven't got 18 stations, and their preferred order, relegated to memory...
What I do is warm the car up, then turn it off and pull the positive cable. Why?
Because the positive cable is always wonky with corrosion, dirt sticking to the silicone grease, or whatever. So, I take the opportunity to clean it up. And, doing a reset *seems* to work better when the motor is warm...
While I'm doing this, I turn my headlight switch on. This grounds out the system.
Then, when I'm done, I start the engine and let it idle for 5 minutes - without touching the throttle. While the ECU is doing its thing, I reset the stations and set the clock.
Works every time!
Really, it doesn't hurt to do it every once in a while anyway - like when the seasons change, and so forth. I can always tell a difference afterward.
LoL!
Can't believe I didn't think about it this time. Guess I was looking for a bigger problem...
BTW, I always set my clock exactly 3 minutes fast - keeps me from being late to work, et cetera, but that's optional!

in my experience, changing intakes never adjusts the idle. Either way the air is regulated via your IACV, so even pulling the intake hose off wont affect idle.
Your oil filter however, I can vouch for it affecting idle, along with your PCV valve getting stuck in a low vac setting.
