hey guys. im kinda lost. i drove my car tonight real hard. screeching tires etc. i have tein flex coil over and tower bars front and rear. when i take hard turns. and i mean hard and gas it to push through. the car start to get " bump steer". feels liek it wants to jump off the road. anybody have any ideas?

 

what tires are you running?
what PSI are your tires at?
what sway bars are you running?
whats the camber set to up front and rear?
whats the suspension stiffness dial at?
whats the ride height of the car?
what kind of road was it?

any additional info would be nice

 

If you've lowered your car and haven't done anything to the tie rod ends to correct the angle that they have with the steering rack, that could very well be the source of your problem.

thats what i have hered. do you know what i can do to fix that issue?

or

inverted tie-rod kit

 

dont want to raise the car. and were can i get those for our car. cant find any

prob your only choice, although mine broke after 2 months, so yeah..

 

how did they break. and is there any other company that makes them?. is there any other other way to fix it?

 

T1R is prob your only choice, and easy to get

mine broke at the ball-bearing, it just came loose and made lots of sounds, loose ball-bearings are no good

theres basically no other way of fixing bumpsteer, its just a flawed suspension design by honda

 

but its 200 bones very 2 month because they break? or did they give u new ones for free

 

there is no warranty on T1R products, u pay what you get for, stuff that's made in taiwan

so you want to tell me that Macpherson Strut design on Hondas is better than Double-Wishbone?

if we're all so oriented on the stock height of the vehicles, then Honda-Tech wouldnt exist would it?

 

Relax. He's just saying that the suspension was designed for the height that it comes from the factory. You start toying with the way it's supposed to be, then you get into a gray area of which is better for what application.

OP has gotten two possible fixes, none of which appeal to him.

actually, if you really want to know, in my opinion Macpherson strut suspensions do have their advantages over double wishbone and vice versa. I was merely pointing out that the engineers at honda did their job to meet their requirements. If the car was going to be sold with the intention of being modified, it probably be more accomodating, wouldnt it? i hardly call it a 'design flaw.' I own cars with both setups. you think the only reason honda tech exists lies entirely on the fact that people like to lower hondas? i dont know about you, but i come here in search for stuff besides suspensions. what i do know is that i dont come on here in search of douche baggery posted by people like you. I have a pretty low drop on my car with tein SS's and have yet to have any REAL problems with bump steer. Ive been through a set of compliance bushings...like many others, but in my opinion, if you don't slam it, it'll still handle well.

edit: also, the t1-r kit works well, if you grease them through the fittings like youre supposed to, they last. Ive installed them for someone and theyve had them on for almost a year with no problems.

guys please help dont argue. you both make a good point lets leave it at that. you said there was 2 options. what is the other?

 

you can get a bracket that will raise the tie rod inner end (that hooks to steering rack) it will level things out. i have one on the way and camber plates as well for the front. i have the same problem but i don't drive my car aggressively at all. the only reason i want to correct the tie rod angle is because when we went to adjust the camber to factory specs i was out of tie rod due to the harsh angle that was on them.

all in all the bracket and the inverted tie rods are usually made by the same company and the same price. i would opt for the bracket. no moving parts and cant really fail. don't forget also u can use the one off the rsx/ep3 chassis too, so when u do ur research look into rsx/ep3 tie rod correction as well as EM2
