AEM intake
I had posted this topic a while ago where my check engine light kept comeing on with my intake, and after trying different things to get it off i gave up and took out the intake. well anyway last weekend i went to a car show and found someone with the same year and model as me (06 civic ex) and he had the same intake (aem cold air) and i asked him if he had any problems with the light. he said at first he did, he even took it off and installed it 3 times. till one day he was playing with it and he took the air scencer and turned it around screwed it back on and the light never came back on and his car didnt idle any more. he said he had it in backwords and didnt no cuz it fits in both ways. does any one think that could really be the problem? before i go and put the intake back on.
I'm not sure about having it in backwards. I had the same problem as CivicDemon which I think alot of people had. Did you try to disconnect the battery for about 10min then reconnect it and let it idle for a couple minutes after putting the intake on?
yea i disconnected the battery and put it back and let it idle many times, and it always came back on, it was on really tight there could have not been any leaks either. I had a buddy thats a tech for honda check it out for me and he couldnt figure it out he said that theres a honda bulletin that saids any after market parts would make the cel go on. anyway this guy at the car show said that if i flip it over that the holes match perfect with the screws i dont have the intake on so i cant check if thats true, does anyone no if that is correct?

all you got to do is disconect the battery for ten minutes and it will reset the ECU. the problem should go away
