Default 94 integra cluster help VSS

hey, well i'm swapping out my DA cluster for a 94LS teggy cluster. the reason for this is because the DA cluster broke somehow, like the odometer stopped working. i replaced the vss cable too but it's broken for sure. anyways i have a d16z6 with an 91 si tranny and the 92-00 VSS won't fit the tranny. i've searched for a while now but only came up with answers for the b-series tranny. if anybody has done this cluster swap using the d-series tranny with the 92-00 vss. please help me out! thank you

what do you mean by "it doesnt fit"

compare it with the vss you pulled out, use a caliper or something.

it should fit

does your vss look like the one in this pic?

this one (the black one) is from an ek

i have the 95 civic dx sedan vss. i also have the vss from the 94 integra too. well like, i took off the top black piece off and try to 'mount' it to where my stock vss cable when into. it doesn't sit flushed but when i broke off one of the mounting tabs, i sat a little lower but no luck. i also tried to pry off the cable vss but it wouldn't nudge.

If it didnt sit flush, you shouldnt have broken it. You need to put the car into gear and rock it a few times so the gear inside the tranny turns, allowing the gear on your speed sensor to slide down into it. It helps if you have a friend so you can try to jam it in while hes rocking the car, instead of rocking it, trying, rocking again, trying again, etc.

I think you need that "top black peice" so that once you get it into the tranny it will actually stay there, i think the black peice has a clip inside of it so it will lock onto the top of the transmission. Otherwise it will pop out from the force of the gears spinning together.

Oh and also i dont think you can use the integra speed sensor, but i might be wrong. I think you need one from a D series (the one from the 95 dx should work fine).
