I have been trying to do a search for some reading of Jim and Al's PIC coilovers since last night. Can someone give me some links and info? The search function is not working
Thanks!
Thanks!
Ryan youll have no problems. all you need to worry about is what spring rate you wanna go with. if the car is daily driven or driven a lot on the street, go with something LESS than the R3 12/14K setup. I thought it was a bit too solid for the street. However I sold that setup to walker111111one!! and he loves them, and bbasso also rocks his on the street. I would be comfortable buying the next level down from those and run them on the street with no problem. fitment, quality, adjustment was all gravy

Thanks, and it seems like I have been wasting all day and all night last night just trying to find any of your responses from months earlier when I tossed around the idea of getting PIC.

12/14 is a bit much for the streets, but once you find a turn You will forget all the bumps you just jarred yor back on
PIC, Al & Jim= Very glad I met you and run your suspension

Well, I talked with Jim today for quite some time. He steering me towards the APEX version that has no dampening adjustment. I see his points and spending $300 extra on an option that won't be used hardly at all. I daily drive my ITR currently to work, and would like something that's a little more aggressive than what I have right now.
Looks like the P2 - 10k FRONT / 8k REAR might be what I need. Anyone else go with this setup? Anyone with the P3 - 12kF/10kR?

If i was to do it again and wanted the car more streetable, i would definitely go with the 10/8K setup. 12/10K probably isnt too bad though.
when I ran the R3 12/14K, the 14K rear was just a little too much. the front was fine but the rear was just a little to stiff and bouncy for me so the P3 might not be that bad either.

THanks for the Input Ryan! If you didn't have the motor problems and had a little extra money, would you have that set of PIC Apex's for Expo this year?
I currently have these DR-Racing lower springs (gold in color) w/ a drop of about 30mm. The rates I believe are 8.2k F / 6.4k R. That's according to the box I dug out while talking with Jim. I do want something that's a little more aggressive so I have a little more learning to do while at Expo. I want a little more excitement and something new and fun.
Just some quick thoughts while waiting for a call back on whether they are ready to ship out today or not.

i love my Select P3s (12k/10k). at first i was skeptical about the rates being too soft since the car does see quite a few race events/lapping/autocrosses a year for a daily driver, but i appreciate them even more now since yesterday's time attack/lapping event at Stratotech (a tight and technical Canadian Superbike/shifter cart course). i ended up turning the fastest time of the day in a field of Miatas, S2000s, ITRs and even a C6 Z06. the organizers and fellow racers were impressed with my fwd econobox
i was impressed with the taut body motion control, stability and neutrality of the rates and dampers. its compliance and ability to soak up mid corner bumps were beyond what i had expected as well. if the roads weren't so bad up here in Canadia i'd for sure have gone with the R3's 12k/14k for a tad bit more rotation. the P3s matched the RE01Rs very well
on top of that, Jim and Al are a pleasure to work with
if it strictly sees street duty, a set of Apex P1s 8k/6k would be hefty enough to to keep you entertained

Has anyone ever asked how much it would cost to replace whatever said springs with a stiffer or softer spring from PIC?
Just a thought... oh, and I am seriously considering the P2 (10kF/8kR). I am just waiting on Jim to call me back and let me know when the rears are in stock for the ITR.

Not sure if Jim called you back or not but we're out of the ITR lower mounts for the moment. He wants to air ship some over, which really is our only option now. But the FedEx box is 25kgs minimum and that is a lot of lower mounts to send over, they are so light. So we need to fill it up with some other stuff, and we're trying to find out what to fill it with that we need.

Thanks for all the replies everyone!!! I hope to hear from Jim or Al some time soon. I want to purchase, but no ITR rear shocks available yet.

No, 12k/14k is not suitable for everyday use. A car that will only see a few auto-x and a few hpde's is probably not setup to take advantage of a 12k/14k setup on track, and the driver is probably not ready for it either. We do offer setups for applications like yours, and the 12k/14k is not one of them.

Guys, I finally purchased, and also installed. Thanks so much Jim and Al ! PIC Performance's customer service is OUTSTANDING. If you have a little bit of time, and want to pick up some PIC coilovers, then these guys will make sure you won't make a mistake and choose the wrong ones. Unless, you straight up tell the the wrong item you want. Sort of like me. I was talked into getting the Apex (nonadjustable dampening) and for some reason when I sent Jim my order via email, I typed in Select (adjustable dampening). They told me that they would correct that with out a hitch, but I told them that it'll be fine. Just a nice little $300 option!
I hope I get good use of them this year @ Expo8 at VIR !
Thanks PIC!
