help ls pistons
i have been doing some research and i looked at some rs machine pistons im doing a mild turbo build nothing hudge but i also looked at some npr pistons on ebay anyone ever used either of these comments on both and on the rs machine ones do you just get the pr3 pistons or what and i also need them in a 81.5mm i need some help guys
both pistons will work fine, but all depends on ur hp goals... i believe both pistons u are talking about are cast... whenever forced induction is the power adder forged pistons are HIGHLY recommended as the cast pistons are more prone to cracking ringlands and other issues common with turbo cars... let us know ur setup ur hp goal and what ur budget is and im sure we can give u some recommendations! good luck
hp goal is not much im still in school money is moderate not alot but not hurting for any either im running a small trim turbo .48 i just want fast spool maybe 220-250 hp not to much just enough to have some fun i dont mind going with forged rods but forged pistons are a butt load of money and i could think alot better stuff to spend my money on and if i could of have the cast pistons just moly coated and ceramic coated for extra strenght i would do that and spend my money wisely on other parts that are needed car will be tuned with crome running 450cc dsm injectors ram horn mani 3in exhaust port and polish head springs and retainers but no cams yet and thats it so could i get away with cast pistons or do i really need to go forged
