Default OBD2B P73 Type R ECU in a 99 Civic SI OBD2B, wont start, any ideas?

Anyone have any ideas why this ECU will not start my car. There is no response from the main relay or the fuel pump. The Check engine light comes on immediately.

Are the Pin outs different, or do you need to switch some of them around?

OBD2B P73 has immobilizer.
You're not going anywhere without getting it programmed, and having the antenna/key setup installed.

Any ideas?

Check what Code the ECU is giving and let's go from there.

As far as the pins are concerned, they sould all be the same.

JDM P73s are ALL OBD2a.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2067011

JDM ECUs will never pass emissions in cali either. they run OBD1 code in an OBD2 case, they have no way to communicate to the scan tool.

the questions is, what do you really have...
check the part number on the side of the ECU and the post I linked to.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1

here is the add that I bought it from

I will check the code and post it.

So definitely there is no OBD2B JDM ITR ECU's, only OBD2B PCT's right?

I looked at the ECU and opened it, and there is no immobilizer board also. Shouldn't there be one?

from the numbers i read it has a immobilizer and you have to repin the fuel pump relay which it will not let your car start
the pins you have to switch is a16 to a15
and aswell the immobilizer must be removed

Thank you all for the help, as the ad I showed you all from eBay shows a "JDM" P73 I am going to return it, I don't want to deal with the headache of re-pinning and dealing with the immobilizer.

This seller should not have put JDM in the title because it was confusing.
I am used to the OBD1 ecu stuff and never dealt with the newer crap.

37820-P73-A04 = 00-01 USDM ITR
does have Immob, if not present then it was removed. (having it bypassed and removed causes the CEL to be on, but the car will run)

If you are looking for a JDM P73, search for a 37820-P73-003, 013 or 023.
again check the thread that I linked to above, it lists all the P73s that I could find and their origins.

Thanks, I will probably buy a JDM PCT ECU since the seller is going to refund the money for this one.

PCT/P73, do you have a B16 or B18?
Hopefully you don't think that the two ECUs are swapable. There are fuel and ignition differences between the two.

If this damn site allowed more than 5 postings a day. Forgot my old HT ID and cannot find it.

I totally forgot about the fuel curve for the 1.6 in the PCT. I have a 1.8 stroked to a 1.9. I am going to use a chipped P28 instead. This is just for daily driving to work and back, that is why I needed something more on the stock curve for fuel delivery.

I will just use the Apexi VAFC to adjust the fuel curve to 14:7 with the P28.

Depending on which chip of course... IMO you'd better off with the P73 and pushing in slightly more fuel via increasing the FPR 5-7psi.
random chip and VAFC... god knows what the ignition settings are going to be.
(VAFC fakes the ECU into changing fuel settings, this also adjusts the ignition settings) Hence why most people with hondas do not use VAFCs anymore. There are so much better alternatives out there. (Crome, eCtune, hondata, etc)
