I will be going the other way from Azenis to A032R. From what i hear you really can't compare R compound tires to street tires. I am surprised you are saying the Azenis seemed better. I hope that the 6 bills i laid down is going to be worth it for track events!

we were actually talking about the azenis compared to the ao32r at the autocross today. i figure they should be about the same. but i'm interested to hear what talkie25 has to say, since hes goin from falkin to yoko.
For autocross the A032Rs are not great. They took too long to heat up and with only 4 runs they got hot on the 3rd or 4th run. I can see if your region has 8 runs that might be enough. The Azenis get warm right away, but too much heat can cause them to get greasy.
So this weekend I brought along a sprayer bottle and sprayed the tires on the 3rd run and that was my fastest time
So it seems like it worked

Something tells me you were not using your AO32Rs to their fullest. On the street my Azenis perform great. Yesterday it was raining when I left the house to go to the Auto-x and I didn't pack my race tires(victorracers), but when I got there it dried up and I made all my runs in the dry. Read below:
when pushed to their limits Azenis compare no where near a R compound tire

Nope used a pyrometer and got event temps across the fronts just like what I do with all my tires (VictorRacers and Azenis). A032Rs have been known to take awhile to heat up. Ask most of the other owners of A032Rs.

As donkeypunch mentioned that the Azenis compared nowhere near to an R compound i am hoping this to be true. I am getting more and more into tracking my car and need some experience with R compounds if i am take to it a step further.
I did notice when i used the Azenis on the track at Sebring, FL they would really start to lose grip once they heated up only after a few laps. They are great before that but they really start to get loud around corners. Makes me kinda nervous. They did hold up and did really well for a STREET tire. I was impressed.
Mike <--anxious to get the A032R's warmed up on the track next month!

I like the spray bottle idea. I might have to steal it from you. I noticed the aziens get a bit slippery after pushing a bit hard in the begining of the course. So I tried not to push them to hard out of the corners. I might break out the hoosiers on hotter days this year.
