I have a 1996 honda civic HX. The car misfires only under light load between 1500 and 2500 RPM, it idels smooth and under full load runs smooth and has good power. We replaced the cap and rotor, swapped the ignition wires around, and swapped the injectors around to see if the problem would follow but it did not. The misfire codes correspond to a misfire on cylinder no 3 and 4 and random misfire. A mechanic suggested it might be the crankshaft position sensor? PLEASE HELP!!

 

try a compression test before you buy any unnecessary parts

 

Just did the compression test, the values were good. Cylinder 4: 180, cylinder 3: 170, cylinder 2: 160, cylinder 1: 160.
