hey guys i found a rex. the car has rust , a big dent in the door( a truck backed into the lower part with a hitch). the whole hood is rusted pretty much. the guy says its got a salvage title, and it pulls to the right. so possible frame damage. if he is willing to sell it to me, it will be about 500 dollars. most of the rust is around the wheels, and one part the rust ate away the metal, so no more metal (along the back wheel well). the seats are messed up also. would you think this is ok to buy. i'm not worried about the seats, or hood that much. a/c is messed up too.

i'm looking to do a swap and also race it out. but have it as a daily driver. i'm mainly worried about the frame being bad, cause he says it pulls to the right even after he got his alignment. also is it possible to find a door at the junkyard to swap it out. or just get it fixed.

i wouldn't get it. if the frames gone, its no good for racing. if the frame wern't gone, i'd think about it, but still i probably wouldn't get it.

when i first got my car the drivers floor was one and it had some minor rust, and i only paid $100 canadian for it. so i say u keep looking. IMO

 

paid 200 bux for mine...was backed into by a semi...had frame damage but not bad...it pulls to the left a little but that's because I need some new tires...I have it ready to paint and I only have about another 1k into it...engine is PERFECT...no oil leaks...good compression...keep looking man.

 

thanks for the input. i think i am going to pass, mainly because of the frame. and if its not going to be safe to race then i dont really want it.

i have been looking around for a rex, hopefully i can find one soon. i'll keep you guys updated if i find one. thanks again for your help.

Good choice, I would not get a crx with rust, I know they are hard to find rust free, but it is not worth the trouble, I have been there and done that.
