im buying my first car either next year or the year after that. im interested in a swap and putting a turbo on it. i don't know if i should keep the stock f20 or drop a k20 in and what size turbo i should dump in there. any opinions would be nice

HAHA i wish graf was here. what transmission would you use to swap a k20 or k24 into it? would you convert the s2k to fwd Seriously i think you need to actually drive a s2000 before you make any plans for boosting it, and as far as motor swaps it would be a waste of time. do you research. also be prepared to spend over 5k for a decent turbo setup.

do u know what building a motor consists of? start w/ the basics and learn from there. try reading on other people's build threads and understand why they did what they did. Not only for turbo, but also read build threads on N/A and understand what each part of the motor does. By understanding that, you can imagine your own setup and tailor it to your own needs.

The purpose of a swap is to get a (for the lack of a better term) BETTER platform, and in the honda world there isn't really a better platform than the F20C or F22C. (NO AP1 vs. AP2 WAR PLEASE.) You can do that 2jz swap, but i doubt you'd be ready to handle the power even in a straight line.

 

yea the 2jz has a lot of power i saw a s2000 with 905 horsepower but yet the guy was running 30lbs of boost. ill look into other build threads.

if you do research you will find that 99% of s2000's fully built for racing still have the f20c. s2000's are not civics, they came with a good motor stock and it is very uncommon to see swaps. i have seen one ls1 swap (never completed) and maybe four 2jz swaps.

imo a 2jz swap is pointless. the f20c can make more than enough power for street needs.

i would suggest owning the care for atleast a year before boosting it. you should learn the car, and i think that you will be surprised at how fast a "stock" f20c really is

 

go on s2ki, they have tons of info on swaps into the s2000 over there

even in stock form you can fishtail in a straight line if you clutchdump the 1-2 shift too hard. (of course not always, but w/ the right conditions)

take out the shitty f20/22 engine, everyone knows is the worst engine honda ever made... mine blew with only 71k miles on it about 2 months ago

so take it out and sell in on ebay, be glad if you get $1000-1200 for it. then buy a nice D16 from a '92 EX, make sure its got vtak. then get a Garret turbo, preferably a GT6041, is a big one. pair it to a nice fmic, with a fpr, and Eclipse injectors and resistor box and just boost that engine like, 24psi and there you go... thats my plan for next year, just saving my money

i thought those were front wheel drive? how would i go from rear wheel drive to front wheel drive?
