Default D16 tranny problem

i was wondering if any d15 tranny will bolt up to a d16?

i know it is covered in this post https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2278039, but just wondering if it would be any different if the d16 was not out of a Civic Wagon.

The reason i am asking is because i am looking to buy a civic hatch, that has a d16a6 swapped in, and the tranny sometimes grinds going into 2nd.

thanks for your help in advance

Grinds are rarely caused by bad synchros. Best thing to do would be to have the trans rebuilt by someone good. It will cost more than getting a used trans, but it will work like new.

Depends on what parts are needed. Minimum ISB/seal, axle seals.
