A/C Help
I have a 88 Civic DX Hatch with AC.
This may sound like a stupid question, but do you need a certain ECU for A/C?
I noticed that mu ecu was changed because the date on it says 89.
I hit the A/C button and nothing happens at all lol.
The belt is fine on the compressor, all the wiring is connected properly(AFAIK), i am about to start tearing the dash and **** apart hunting all the wiring, but just wanted to know if theres anything specific to look for before going at it.
BTW it has a fresh charge in it because i converted from r-12 to r-134a, and properly lubricated the system as well.
Any help is appreciated
thanks, mike

How could it have been charged if it doesn't turn on?
When did it stop working?
The ECU does control when the compressor turns on, but I don't think that there are any factory ECU's that don't have the function included.

i charged it using the AC machine at my work. im not sure when it stopped working, i just bought the car and the previous owner is not sure.
i have a PM5 ECU if that makes any difference.
