Default High Idle when WARM B16, Full Details inside.

Ok im going to try to break this down the best I can, PLEASE read through it thoroughly before giving me the same old answer "Clean you're IACV" and stuff like that.

When my car is COLD it idles at 2000RPM About normal.
When my car is WARM it idles at 2000RPM, which is not normal
When the car is WARM the FITV is not sucking in air
When the car is WARM the IACV is sucking in air like its supposed to

I have tryed 3 different IACV's, that is not the problem.

I've checked over ALL my vacuum lines and I dont see a leak or anything like that.

I turned my IDLE SCREW all the way in and backed it out about 3/4 of a turn, that shouldnt be causing it right?

I have took my FITV off, and made sure the plastic piece on the back was screwed all the way IN. And it is.

Im running a B16A2 block with a B16A3 OBD1 Head on a Chipped P28 ECU w/ a P30 BASEMAP, untouched.

I was told that this basemap is commonly known to give idle problems, could this be it?

Basically, the car idles normally for it being cold, but never drops down to the 750+/- 50 rpms it should be idling at when warm.

I have tryed blocking my IACV off with tin foil to see what gives there, and it idles at 1500 cold and 2000 warm with it blocked off.

Is this the chip with the p30 basemap giving me the problem? I have no other ECU currently to test it with.

I DO have a person who will burn me chips with different basemaps, with a OBD1 B16A3 which basemap should I try that would run the car fine, its all stock cept basic bolton's I was thinking maybe a OBD1 PR3 basemap or a P30 basemap with the IACV disabled or something of that nature, or just a tuned idle. I talked to a tuner who said hes tuned p30 basemaps before because they were causing idle problems and he got them sorted out.

Please if you've took the time to read this, give me you're insite. Always idling at 2000 RPM is getting really annoying.

Bump post if you got ANY idea's.

BTW turning the idle screw with ECU in diagnostic mode and IACV disconnected does nothing at all.

You're supposed to tune the TB screw with the IACV unplugged AFAIK (on OBD1 at least). Most engines should idle at 650 with the IACV unplugged. Then you reset the ECU.

What's your base ignition timing? If it's too far advanced it will raise your idle RPM.

I believe that the coolant temp sensor for your ECU is different than for your gauge, but I can't remember for sure. Maybe it's bad? Only way I know of testing them is to heat it in pot on the stove with a voltmeter. But it's probably easier just to try another one from the junkyard.

How's your thermostat? Again, how do you know that your coolant is reaching operating temp?

It's a very strong possibility that it's your chipped ECU. Chipping ECU's is a very hokey and questionable way of doing things IMO, even though it is very popular in the Honda scene. Why not get an OBD adapter harness and run the proper ECU? Forgive my ignorance if there is some compelling reason not to do this.

Its a OBD1 engine, 94 B16A3 from a delsol to be exact, its a 99-00 SI B16A2 block but the head is obd1 so I suppose thats all that would matter.

Im sure it's reaching op. temp, it gets just a tad under the middle on the temp gauge on the cluster, sometimes the idle surges, sometimes it doesnt. Its really weird to be honest. My timing could possibly be a tad advanced because I tryed as hard as I could to get it on 16 BTDC and I got it as close as I could and from what I could tell almost all the way advanced was dead on 16, i could be wrong and just a dumbass though, it may be to far advanced. im going to try retarding the timing here in a sec and see what it does...

Ok i just found out something

I went driving to get it warmed up just a sec ago again

i sprayed intake cleaner around the FITV while the idle was SURGING. And what do you know, i found a leak on the HOUSING of the FITV.

Is this my problem? Do i just need to get another FITV? its on the housing itself, like where the coolant connects on the inlet...

if the housing is cracked yes you need a new one, did spraying it change the idle? im assuming yes
