Default cd deck In original area 96 coupe

I was wondering if thats where you guys normally put them. Or do you guys ever put them in the tape player area. Im asking this because the cd player has a curved side and Im not sure if theres a special like plate or something for it to sit fine. any feedback or pics would be awesome

There is an installation kit that will make it fit in the correct location up above. They can also be made to fit in the lower cubby area.

Right now, the curve will be fine, you'll just have a little bit of a dip with a curve. The DIN itself is square, and will take any radio.

To cover up the space, you'll need part BKHA1570B (Google/eBay).

my 97 have just the factory radio up top and a seperate cd player down below by the cup holders. well the cd player doesn't always work so if i can't find a replacement one i think im just gonna install a aftermarket cd player down there. i have seen it done before and it looks good.

cliff notes: you can put it either spot

Dish thing? Do you mean the block off plate for up above or the cubby for down below?

They're both stock USDM Honda parts. You don't need a part number to buy a part from Honda. The cubby was standard in any car that didn't come with a CD slave, cassette slave, etc. The block off came in the CX hatch IIRC. It didn't come standard with a radio.

Oh, and to the guy wanting to install the aftermarket CD player down below and keep the stock radio up top, no need to.

Why do you want the part number.

Seriously.

You can buy it without a part number. Sometimes coming in with a part number even pisses off the parts person.

i know theres no need to, just thought it would be a better theft deterent if it looked like it was just the stock one.

I have a 96 hatch my cd player is where the tape deck used to be so i put a holder in where the stock one was up top. I think its nicer and like you said you can flip up the cup holder lid so no one can see it when your car is parked

I don't usually see Honda parts listed with a Honda part number on eBay. You should be able to find it anyway.

In fact, I just searched for it and found no results. I even searched in the auction, not just the title.

I'd try keywords like "cubby", "pocket", "dash", etc. All with "Honda Civic" of course.

Oh, and just go to Honda anyway. The list is only $11.58. Far from "an arm and a leg".
