H22 Civic swap help,HCP mounts?
I currently have a canadian 2000 h22 ready to swap into a 1998 civic lx.I plan on converting to obd1.
1)Is an eg swap similar to an ek swap and what kind of differences are there?
2)Will hcp mounts work for a sedan or only hatch and coupe?
3)Whats the difference between the street and race apps for the hcp mounts?
4)What kind of distributor will I need? Will I need to perform an internal coil conversion?
5)Will I have to cut a 2*3 hole into the underside of my car to run the shifter cables?
6)Will I need to buy a wiring harness?What kind?
7)Does anyone have a parts list needed for the swap?
Thanks
Thanks

the ek and eg swap are the same (newman has an eg with the h22 and i have an ek with h22) as far as the putting the motor in, the mounts will work with 2/3/ or 4 door, the race kit has the front mount that mounts to the front of the motor and bolts into the frame where the tow hooks are(front cross member), yes you will have to cut a hole for the shifter cables, you will use your stock harness, and if you need anyparts for it i will be happy to help if i can.
i can send you pics of our swaps if you want
if you haver anymore questions feel free to contact me ( brian@jdmshit.com or newman@jdmshit.com

Ok, I'll help you out here.
Yes it is. With the exception of OBDI and OBDII, they are both pretty similar as far as the engine harness's go.
Yes it will work for a sedan. The engine bay's are the same. The harness's are just SLIGHTLY different. I will post up the conversion chart for you as well as Civic Pinouts for you. You will have to look into the Hayne's or Helm's wiring chart for your car exactly for YOUR specific ECU Wires, and where they go. But I will give post up what YOU need to add specifically to convert your own harness into the CDM P13 (which is what you probably have).
I am not exactly sure on this one, you will have to talk to HCP or Newman on this board or H22EK which posted above me.
Yes you will, otherwise you will have extra mess of wires to deal with and is one pain in the ***. Get a distributor from any F motor that is a VTEC motor....whether it be from a Prelude or Accord. Specifically speaking a '92-93 Accord internal distributor, and should be plug and play with that. Will be OBDI as well.
Yes, right where the SRS unit is located, just in front of it, I believe, you will have to cut a 2" x 3" hole, which isn't that hard to do
You don't have to, you can do it yourself, it isn't that much of a pain in the ***
Yes,
You have options, you can run a 90-93 accord half (or intermediate) shaft.
or you can run driveshaftshop.com custom axles so they won't snap.
or you can run inner prelude cv joints, with 90-93 integra beefy axles with 90-93 outer cv joint so the badboy doesn't snap on you (unless of course if you don't know how to launch and put slicks on
)
For wiring. You have an LX for what you said. So what you will need to wire vtec, knock sensor, the air intake bypass valve, the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) since you have a CDM P13. That's it.
here is a wiring diagram for you that I put up a lil while ago:

here is the civic pin out which will go right into the P13:

o ya, and no problem
PEACE!!

Only cutting is required if using a H22 with a cable tranny right? No cutting required for the Hydro tranny? Is their any stock shift link for the hydro you can use for the H22 in an EK without having to mod it? If not what kind of shift link?

and read the above post for cutting and such.

Good job Poison
You answered most of the questions since my lazy *** has been out of town lately. But I'll fill in the rest:
3) The difference between the "Street" and "Race" kit is the addition of the front crossbar (you can see our website for picts of the kits for reference). On the EK chassis, it is HIGHLY recommended to run the "Race" kit with the front crossbar. The reason being is that the driver's side stock gel-filled mount is not that strong and can tear from the torque that the H22 puts out. The front crossbar is there for added stability & support.
Hope this helps.
