Default Rod bearings- question?

My car has a slight rod knock in between 2 and 3,500k when I heard it I automatically knew what it was. I was talking to a buddy of mine the other day who works for an auto shop and he told me that if I put 20/50 oil in the car it'll act as a band-aid for the knock. Is this true?

Secondly how hard is it to replace the bearings?

Thanks in advance

replacing just the rod bearings? easy... you can do it keeping the motor in there, but in the case of a rod knock... which may be a spun bearing.. a complete removal and rebuild of the motor would be ideal.

get some standard acls or king rod bearings and slap them in there... may not be (ideal) but will more than likely fix your knock and usually lasts quite a while... put acls in my gf's lsvtec 30k miles ago and rev it to 8k daily....good luck!
