oil cooler vs aluminium radiator??
I'm running B20 Vtec setup and i'm wondering which one I should go with. Would getting an oil cooler ultimately lower the engine temps along with coolant or should I just get the Aluminium Radiator? Also I have the golden eagle sandwhich plate with only 2 1/8npt holes, thinking of getting the mfactory plate with 3 1/8npt and using one for the vtec line and the other 2 for the oil cooler.
Correct, 1/8" NPT is way too small. You'll need at least -10 hose for an oil cooler. I personally run -12 on my track car.
What exactly are you looking to cool? The oil temperatures or the coolant temps? That will determine, obviously, what kind of cooler you need. I've found that the OEM radiator works quite well, so if you only have a choice of doing one or the other, I'd say to get an oil cooler, especially if you live in a hot climate. On a street driven car, a thermostat is a very, very good idea. Even on my track car, I use a thermostat on the oil cooler.
I data log oil temp and water temp on my track car, and I have found that water temp appears to fluctuate a bit more, but that's likely due to the opening/closing of the thermostat. I use a Fluidyne radiator and a 25 row Mocal oil cooler.
