Default Rear drum brakes

Does any one know how to adjust the rear drum brakes? 89 civic dx.
Just put new brakes on the rear and when I try to put the drums on I have to unadjust it to put the drum back on. Does this have a self adjuster on it?

should be able to adjust them in to get the drum on, then they will self adjust when you pump the brakes...

It seems like a good idea, however that system never works.

There is a little black rubber plug on the top of the backing plate that will where you can get in there to turn then adjuster.

find an upward hill and use the parking brake and pedal while rolling back. it helps adjust the "self-adjusting" drum brakes.

Theres a little round thing with teeth on it. Theres also a flat clip pressed against the round thing. That round thing as you turn it will adjust the brakes to go out or in. So pull the tab back, and twist the little gear to where you can get the drum on.
I know confusing, but its at the middle top.
You should see it.
You want the drum to have a little force to get on, so you know the brakes are tight.

Heres what it looks like the thing outlined in red.

PUll the tab back to adjust the brake, the tab is marked with blue.
Rotate the circular gear, marked in green.
