ABS engaging more frequently, possible problem
i recently removed my rear trailing arm to replace the bushing,
in the process i noticed that my rear pads were just about gone so to save my rotors i used some cheap wearever organic pads we had laying around at the shop (they were a match and i believe we had them laying around from a first gen integra)
after putting everything back together i noticed that my abs engages more frequently. its still under hard braking but defnetly earlier than before.
prior to this i really had to slam on them to engage the abs now its pretty easy to do so. i pulled the abs fuse to see if it truely was the abs and with out the fuse i was able to slam on them even come to a skid stop.
i was very careful in removing the abs sensors from the rear i dont think i stretched the line or anything of the sort.
the car is a 01 gsr
is this something relating to the new crappy pads in the rear (front has oem pads) or is it abs problem.
oh and the abs light hasnt come on
this is an autox car and the brakes will be abused so please dont tell me to learn how to drive

You removed the wheel speed sensor? You shouldn't have to to replace the pads... Check your tone rings. If they're still close to lining up, it won't always set off a light.
If the pads are from a first gen, I don't believe those are the same pad and shouldn't be interchangeable. Unless you mean '94-'97.

The tone ring is the little toothed ring around the hub that tells the ECU how fast the wheel is spinning. If it locks up prematurely, it tells the ECU that your wheel is not turning, and thus engages anti-lock. Check your clearances and the actual ring. Look for misalignment, cracks, chipped teeth, etc.
well i pulled the 10a fuse for the abs unit
it seems the rear is locking up pretty easily and going into a skid (on azenis), i guess the pads are the wrong ones and are causing this problem.
this premature skiding is abviously trigering the abs unit which will solve my problem.
i'll be making a trip to acura and picking up oem pads front and rear tomorrow
also does anyone know the difference between the 1st gen integra and my 01 gsr as far as the rear pads go cause they look very identical.???
also after putting the fuse in abs light is still on and abs unit still not working, any way to reset the system????

If you pulled the ABS sensor, check the sensor for debis and the proper air gap. If the signal is weak, the ABS is over aggressive with its intervention.

after unpluging the abs i noticed that the rear was locking up prematurely mostlikely causing the abs to trigger early also.
i will be picking up new pads today and i'll clean the sensor while im at it.
once im all done whats the best way to reset the abs to get it to start working again.
it stoped working and light came on when i pulled the abs unit fuse now that its back in its all still off and light still on.
thanks dogginator
