Default SI axleback users

i was thinking about getting a Si OEm axleback system for my lx.
But im not sure how loud it will be. i do Not want anything loud but a nice little low rumble. something like a g35 or 350z but still more quiet.

what do you guys thing is it a nice mod for around 80 bucks?

ps im looking to get one so if you have one for sale LMK , prefer local

I would advise you to go with a full cat not just the axleback.

The stock SI note isn't all that impressive to me. It's too quiet, I think the SI would've been fit better with a more agressive exhaust note to go with the aggressive sounding motor. Possibly an option since some people don't want that (and the HFP axelback is no solution, I think that's the biggest rip)

if u slap dcrh on it, its the cleanest sound. quiet when u drive but when u step on it, it screams. and the exhaust not around 4k is similar to that of a g35 or 350

i-VTEC_DOHC, you said the inlet size is different. will it still bolt up perfectly with stock piping?

I should not respond because I don't have this gen Civic, but here goes.

I had a G6 Si axleback on my LX. Although I can see the pipe being bigger, I did not notice any "sound" or performance. It was just nice to have a bigger pipe and tip, while still looking OEM.

Nothing will sound like a G35/350Z, even if the same VQ engine is in the Quest minivan. Too many factors with tuning, cams, pipes, flow, etc.

My guess (I would try on my next car depending on what it is), is to replace the resonator with an aftermarket responator like Magnaflow. And keep the rest of the exhaust OEM. Without the mid resonator will make the car a bit louder with a little high pitch (search on youtube. I know there is one from a Jetta). Some guys like that. I don't.

An aftermaket resonator is smaller than OEM, so it will quiet that note just a bit. But not as much as OEM. No one has done this as far as I know. This does not increase performance. Just changes the tone.

I love my Megan Racking Axle Back. Perfect sound for me. I'm all stock except a K&N Drop in.
