7.3 powerstroke! My boy has it in his and it has maaaadd VTEC yo.
for real though, decide what it is you want/need. do you necessarily need a bigger motor. Keep in mind that depending on what you go with you're going to have to do some fab work, so try to remember. read the top of the page where it says what swaps are available, that should answer any questions you have.

i think thats probably enough of the engine jokes. the o.p. was given information on where to research his options. the dogpile has gone on long enough.

I'm just curious what the need is for having the biggest engine. What kind of HP goals do you have? If its relatively low you could just do a simple piston/ rod setup with a SOHC and either piece together a turbo kit or buy one and still have AC and run 250WHP easily for a daily driver.

but who wants a D series when everything else is better, and he has money to do the swap?
If you have $6k: K20a swap with a turbo kit.

With $6k, he'd be lucky to have a legit K series swapped in correctly. Honestly, bigger doesn't mean better. If you have $6k to find a good engine setup, i would suggest an LS, LS/VTEC, or GSR block and use the leftover money on a simple turbo setup. Depending on the market in your area you should be able to find the full swap for around $1500 at most and then spend the other $4500 on a complete turbo setup and a reliable tune. Even a K swap isn't going to yield more than about 225whp; whereas, the setup above with a boosted stock block will make around 300whp if done properly. That's your best bet for the money...
