LSD Tranny Question, Behavior
Hey guys I have a question about Stock Limited Slip Differentials. Seems that when I did a swap on my DA a few years ago, the YS1 transmission with the factory LSD behaved the following way.
With the car jacked up, I could spin one wheel and the other wheel would spin the same direction at the same time.
Now I have a B16B CTR with LSD and the results seem different.
With the car jacked up, I spin one wheel one direction and the other wheel sits with minimum movement, or slight movement towards the opposite direction. Does this make any sense? To me it seems to act as an open differential.
I don't remember that happening on my DA with the YS1 LSD Tranny. Why would it be any different on a CTR Tranny? Should I have any concerns?
Puzzled, Thanks.

Yeah, for my DA i got an OBD1 Second Gen B16A with a YS1 tranny that had a factory LSD. It was very obvious that it had an LSD, simply by the behavior and how different the car felt. It was a night and day difference when compared to an open diff.
My new motor, the B16B Civic Type R also comes with an LSD but it so far seems different. I haven't driven the car yet, so maybe it just needs to sorta break in or something. The motor was sitting for 3 years before I got it running again.
