ITR Cam lobe worn? Normal?
Hmm so it normal for them to have that uneven slope? that is weird, it look like the rocker eat away the cam lobe
EDIT: I did post a gsr cam head, mistake replace with the itr head now

same thing happen to my itr cams after 100k miles. i ended up buying new 00+ctr cams to replace them.
they are junk and are probably less agressive than stock obd 0 b16a cams. just fork out the money for new itr cams for some skunk2 stage 1's

this may help you also. the new oil's of today really are not that good for our old motors.

Does that wear occur when the valve opens or when it closes? How much power loss is expected? All the VTEC lobes on both intake and exhaust cams look just like that and some on the secondary, would my B16 cams perform better than the 97-99 ITR cams I just bought?
B16A2 stock head and block. Well head has 5-angle VJ, dual springs & T retainers, P&P and .5 over exhaust valves. T3/T4 is going in soon and I purchased 97-99 ITR cams to compliment the head but if the worn lobes don't do a thing and the cams are trash, then I just spent $300.00 on paper weight.

I HAD THE EXACT SAME **** HAPPENING TO MY BUILT H22 Head went [freak]ING NUTS trying to figure it out... read LOTS about oil, and the lack ofZinc dithiophosphate, I changed to Royal Purple (which has it and theyre own synerlac additive)... Not one problem in over 6000 miles. I was going through exhaust vtec rockers and cams every 1500 miles....
NO PROBLEMS AT ALL ANYMORE.....
I read ALOT on bobistheoilguy and a couple other oil related boards, then found this:
http://www.animegame.com/cars/Oil%20Tests.pdf
It was enough to get me to try it.
SERIUOUSLY... NO ONE COUYLD GIVE ME A STRAIGHT ANSWER... Glad I figured it out myself. I had PLENTY of oil pressure... Changed the oil every 1500 miles, and still had problems with mobile 1. s long as you get the german manufactured **** that has the zincdithiophosphate youre good. EPA standards killed it off in a majority of oils over here that are domestically produced.
TRY IT... you WILL be happy. Another friend tha I know was having the same **** happen... Told him about my ordeal, and the Royal purp... Its more than hype (not to mention it actually micropolishes blemishes).... It WORKS.
Period...
