Man that's badass! Going to have to pick that issue up! I love seeing some old-school stuff in the magazine! Top notch work too!

What sort of process is involved in geting your car in a mag? </TD></TR></TABLE>
I actually got really lucky on this. I have been to lots of car shows and I have spoken to alot of people who say they are "associated with a magazine" but none of those people ever came through.
A friend of mine "suggested" my car.
He was making the arrangements for his own photoshoot with the editor when my friend was asked to round up a few other suitable cars. The photographer was coming to Florida from California and the editor wanted to maximize the usefulness of that trip. When my friend mentioned my car, the editor was interested. Of the four cars that were shot over the two days, my car appeared in the magazine first.
The friend is John Wilson from LHT Performance. He was very familar with my car because they had installed the custom version of their LHT400 turbo kit. But I had worked on his project car prior to that time. That project car was the subject of the original photoshoot and is the cover car for the June issue of HondaTuning. That car is a K20 powered, street driven Honda Insight. I was the electrical technician on that project.

nice car.
i hope you don't daily drive it though. only because you compromised the safety of your already compact and unsafe car.

Actually I drive it al the time.
The first one that the company did (they converted a total of 310) was crash tested and certified to pass the required levels (at that time).
Of course the cars made now are much safer.

It is because most people these days, unfortunately, drive 5,000lbs+ death machines.
...if everyone drove CRXs we wouldn't have that problem would we!

To be honest, the car with the top up isn't really very pretty. I don't have alot of pictures with it up and this is the only one I have online

I prefer topless pics like this one

How much did these cost back in the day, in comparison to a stock CRX?</TD></TR></TABLE>
The conversion was $5995 according to some old literature i have found.
The conversion could have been done on any trim level (mine was a DX model).
A CRX Si model back then was about $11K.

at one of the local dealers, there was a red 1g CRX convert similar to this one, minus the badass engine setup and choice taste in rolling stock. i think a salesman drove it.
i have that strutbar in my room. need to get off my *** and ebay that ish.
of course
to the owner, i read about it on a Florida import board.

im more impressed with the engine turbo setup/cleannes. I had a turbo '85 si with a b16 it was a BITCH to work on and very hard to do a clean install with such little room, lots of custom work. Very nice.
K-sight is SICK too i always wanted to do that but all the frame work made it unfeasible for me.

Thanks. The guys at LHT Performance really did a super job of crafting thier LHT400 kit to fit my car.
Here is a link to step-by-step pictures of the turbo install

Very unique CRX indeed...btw I'm actually putting a B16A setup in my 84 civic 4dr and was wondering how you did your in dash wiring harness? My boss is actually going to do the wire harness but simplify it as well. Also did you use an external fuel pump seeing as how the car is originally carburated to fuel injected? Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
