Default Oil Leak from the Distributor >>>>??????<<<<<<

This question has been asked only once, according to archive search, but no straightforward answer. I have distributor that is less than 1 year old (remanufactured). For some reason I have oil seaping from the bottom of the joining areas of the rotor cap and distributor main body. Could it just be that the distrib. that I have just has a faulty seal?? Am I answering my own question?
Has anyone experienced this kind of leak....its making a mess of my wiring beneath and is saturated...so its not a slow leak it looks like its coming out faster than I think.

not too familiar on the problem.. thats just my best guess

I replaced that o-ring not long ago... no more leaks. The old o-ring that was on was old and hard. After replacing it, that small oilfall (waterfall) I had there is gone. Nice to see no more oil; the cam seal and valve cover replaced as well, no more oil. Next is a clean up in the engine bay.

okay so back onto this subject. I received the o-ring and replaced it. What I found kinda funny though when I removed the distrib. is that the end piece was kinda free floating. Is this normal on any distrib.? Should it wiggle like that? I'm thinking that because of the wiggle the oil is making its way into the core and then leaks down to the bottom of the distributor. Will see how it goes when I go and return from work.
