Default Mugen Headers....?

went to a couple cars shows and looking in the engine bays of some itr's and noticed mugen headers, what i also noticed is it had no color change in them, it was shiney with no ugly blue or purple color. why is it that these headers are looking like u just got them.?????? cuz mah frenz dc jdm headers are all rainbowed out.....i think spoon headers are like that too...... why is that?

The Mugen header you saw wasn't discolored because it was on a show car. Those cars just get pushed in most of the time.

maybe they switch headers between shows
because all headers will discolor due to heat as Rob stated

i own a set of mugen headers. they changed colors from stainless to blue. they change color because the header is changing material states. stainless steel is the metal of choice in headers because it draws away heat the best and when it turns color it is changing the stainless steel to another metal. i have the mugen stainless and dc stainless and both turn blue. i also have the coated dc 4-1 and they didn't turn color. i think the blue is awesome to me

As Rob mentioned, a HEADER will change color do to the heat. There is polish/cleaner available to clean them..

yea i know about the color changing on the headers, cuz couple of mah boiz own stainless headers, i have ceramic coated dc's and i know those stay like that only difference is they get a little rusty, but that probably explains the non discolor on those show cars, cuz of the trailer queen status.....thanx you all.......
