hey guys,
i have a very weird problem with a check engine light. car is a 95 honda civic cx. it has a b16a3 engine (i cant remember what ecu).. I start the car and after 5 to 6 seconds of running the engine light comes on. so i turn off the engine and trip the system. put it on the on position there is no engine light. only comes on when the engine is running. any suggestion i will appreciate it.

 

Have you tried to see what code is it throwing?

x2 check what code it is

 

this could be something as simple as ur gas cap....cuz dats what it sounds like, if it only happens when ur running ur car....do u have an oem cap?? if so, check to c if it's still good....but before buying a new one definately check what code ur ecu is throwin.....p.s. only buy an oem gas cap....the auto zone ones r ****!!

 

That is the problem. when i turn off the car then put it at the on position the engine light isnt on. i havent check my gas cap. i will tho. any other possibilities.

The engine light comes on when the engine is running for 5 to 6 sec. but i turn the engine off. put it at the on position and no engine light.

 

bump. I found out it is a code 9. CYP. any info what i need to change or inspect to fix the problem. thanks for any help
