02-03 or 04-05? need help deciding which 1 should i pick.
i did some searching around and so far the only difference i can find are the headlight, taillight, side skirt and from 4 to 5 lug wheel. this are only the difference in looks. can you guys help me which one should i pick? what are the difference in the interior department and performance? did they increase the power(HP), stopping, suspension and etc. please help me so that i wont be in the same situation with my s2000. i bought an 01 s2k and after reading from s2k forum and talking to some s2k owner, now how i wish i should have pick the 03-present year. i want to keep the car as long as possible so i want to buy the one i wont regret.
thanks,
Lendon

me too, i like the 02-03 taillight. i can do the convertion but im not sure if i can swap the headlight from 04-05 to 02-03. and as for the wheels, i got a couple of 5X114 so i can still used them. but well see.

I own one of each -- an early '02 and a late '05. You already know the differences in the OEM equipment. The only significant difference between the two is the five-bolt 16" rims on the '05, and that's only significant if you want a particular set of aftermarket alloys and they are only available as five-bolt. Also, due to the difference in the tire sizes of the two cars (195/60x15 on the '02 vs. 205/55x16 on the '05) there is approximately one inch less wheel gap on a bone stock '05. They are mechanically identical. Were I looking for one, I'd look for an owner with some sense of maturity, if you get my drift.
i prefer the 04-05 can easily switch to the jdm headlights and ther is more rim choice with the 5 lug prolly easier to upgrade to big brake kits and if u really like the red tails u can always switch em out and the older ones also have that nasty fake carbon dash

my work requires me to have a bigger trunk space and ive tried a couple of time putting boxes on my S and they wont fit. so im planning of doing a 2 sitter EP3. and i like the way it look once i drop the car. this will be a back-up car if the other two primary work car break down on me. im contracted to the hospital so i need to be alway ready when they want me to pick up something for them. so far the EF and EK is doing a good job, but if something happens to those two then i still have an EP to pull out the garage. i pick up specimens and everything are need to be on time or ealier.

exactly what i was thinking for the lights.
so even for the brakes and suspension part are still the same on all years? and how about engine wise?

i know. right now im hating the idea but i have no choice since i need more box space for my job. but on the other side, ill be back with ap2(boosted maybe?) next year. so technically itll be one summer of no TOP DOWN driving. thats why im saving my 4.57 diff and 70mm T1R.

Ah, boosting my RSX next weekend. I have my tuning session on the 23rd. Anxious to see what 500whp feels like in a fwd, lol

im only aiming for 400whp. coz i want to have a more predictable powerband. so im only SCing the S than TCing. i like the linear power of SC.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Umm, if you want to SC it you need to subtract at least 100whp off that number, lol. Most guys that are supercharged don't break over 275whp but there are a few that have made more but those guys are also spraying. If you are looking for 400whp then a turbo setup is the only way to go.

im referring to the S of hitting 400whp. try the s2ki.com and youll see a lot of SC guys are hitting 400whp on either vortech or comptech kit. a local here with spa s2k is running on 16psi on a vortech kit and was able to hit 419whp. im waiting for kraftwerks SC to be in 400whp. so far the highest ive seen on this kit is 375whp. but as for the EP3 im keeping it stock until the engine dies on me then it would be an NA with rsx engine.

ah, I thought you meant an EP3 or RSX motor with a charger. Yeah, a centrifugal supercharger on an F22 or F20 can make some good power. I want to get an S2k and build another turbo car. Those motors are fun and you have to love RWD. The only real trouble spot on the car is the rear end. That is why I am going to have to run a rear end from a 240sx

if your staying 450 below on turboed S your fine with the s2k diff. on an SC 500whp below is still doable. take a look at sideways Vortech s2k, his still on stock diff. this was my plan for the S, thats why i got vortech sitting on my basement. IMO, rwd is fun to drive but you really have to learn how the car handle before boosting it. coz even on stock F series engine, the tail will still break loose. this is why i fell in love with the car. the only downside for me is the small trunk space and no space for the boxes so i cant even drive the car occasionally for work.

i suggest try to go to a dealership and test drive one. thats the reason why i bought the car after a week without hesitation and still getting 26-28MPG on the stock engine.
