Default 2.25 or 2.5?... that is the question

Well the time has come for me to get an exhaust fitted to my EG. I searched around and found what pieces I want...but I am trying to decide 2.25 or 2.5 inch. The motor is a 2.0 and I have rods and pistons when I get hold of a head. I am expecting close to 12:1 and hope to be spinnin around 8 k. Granted the header I picked out is a 2.5 collector... opinions?

youve been on H-T for almost 3 years and your asking a dumb question... if your 2.0 and 12:1 compression, im assuming your motors gonna be decently built... 2.5" all the way back bro, nothing smaller, throw on a 18" resonator and call it good

man i say 2.5 into a 3.

thats what i have on mine and I've seen proven results on other cars going from a 2.5 to a 2.5-3 inch exhaust with significant gains

Yeah it is just like anything else. Am I willing to deal with the noise for the few extra hp?
I think I am set on 2.5... gonna use the Vibrant flat black. And thanks to everyones responses... will be getting a decent resonator. Just not sure what to go with... cherry bomb?
